This is our beautiful dog, Chiqui, short for Chiquita. Chiqui is a lab/pit mix whom we adopted from the Humane Society. When we adopted Chiqui, her name was Chi Chi. However, we soon learned that Chi Chi is Spanish slang for boobs! She quickly got a name change. We decided that Chiqui sounded close enough that it wouldn't confuse her.
Chiqui was a popular girl at the Humane Society. One of their wonderful volunteers, Mary, made a special trip in the night we came to pick her up because she was so excited to see Chiqui go to her new home. Chiqui gave everyone lots of wet, sloppy goodbye kisses, then hopped in our car to come home to her new life. She is a sweet, affectionate girl, and we feel so lucky that we found each other.
